Express Mail Track and Trace System

In August 2010, Pakistan Post initiated the project of development of online mail tracking application and subsequent management of system across the country. The main objectives were as under:

  • To develop a track and trace web application to be used at more than 500 postal offices across the country
  • Integration with IPS
  • Increase Express Mail volume, leading to increased revenue
  • Quick complaints handling
  • Reduce the manpower cost associated with extension of legacy system

The complete scope of work was as under:

  • Development of a web based mail tracking application and subsequent roll out
  • Integration with IPS
  • Training of the relevant personnel of Client.
  • Hosting of servers
  • Maintenance of system for the next 3 years
  • Deployment of 16 IT Support Engineers
  • 24 by 7 availability of system

In response to the client requirements, Fides successfully developed a web application for track and trace which was approved by the client and was subsequently rolled out at 150+ locations. Fides introduced new features in the system including online complaint submission, online staff reporting, EMTTS extension to small and smart centers, IPS patch improvements, monthly complaint data and analysis reports for customer care branch and a variety of website user reports for the management.

Fides also imparted training at appropriate levels. In addition to the development services, Fides also provided network support services at 24 General Post Offices and 47 District Mail Offices across the country. The system is now live and in operation throughout the county.
